A collective agreement is a contract negotiated between the employer and union that establishes wages and working conditions for all employees covered by the agreement.

FPSE is dedicated to supporting members through all stages of their working lives, from negotiating collective agreements to resolving workplace issues and planning for retirement. Members can access their collective agreements, which outline their wages, benefits, and working conditions, as well as a structured grievance procedure for resolving disputes.

Through providing bargaining support and coordination, FPSE helps Member Locals negotiate stronger agreements that protect and improve these conditions. FPSE also offers comprehensive contract administration services to ensure agreements are upheld and workplace concerns are addressed.

Contract Administration

FPSE staff and local elected representatives successfully defend the integrity of collective agreements on a daily basis. Local stewards handle most grievances in the initial stages. Where grievances cannot be resolved at the initial stages, FPSE Staff Representatives work with locals through to arbitration, when necessary.
