Report from the Resolutions committee

The resolutions committee received additional resolutions (not subject to prioritization) which are available online here.

The 2019 AGM contingency fund is $245,708. Motions received total $295,000 and are available online here. The resolutions committee recommends referral of resolution [202] to the review of standing committees subcommittee created in resolution [182] on page 102. Approval of this recommendation results in motions totaling $245,000. Also, background information on In Search of Professor Precarious from resolution [192] is available online here.

Notice of Motions

Special resolutions are required in the case of an alteration or addition to the Constitution and are passed at a general meeting by at least 2/3 of the delegate votes cast.

Nominations are called for the positions of president, first vice-president, second vice-president, and secretary-treasurer to be elected (or acclaimed) at the 2019 annual general meeting.  

This year's nominations committee is chaired by Brent Calvert (01 CFA), with members Chris Ayles (12 CCFA) and Taryn Thomson (15 VCCFA). The nomination form is available for download here and job descriptions for the positions are available for download here.

Nominations may be made at any time up until the elections are held.  Candidates nominated prior to or at the time of the call for nominations on the morning of Wednesday, May 15 will be given time for a brief presentation, along with their nominators.

Completed nomination forms may be sent to the chair of the nominations committee care of FPSE by email to agm@fpse.ca or fax to (604) 873-8865.  Nomination forms may also be carried to the convention for delivery to the chair.

Notice of Annual General Meetings

Secretary-Treasurer Terri Van Steinburg hereby gives notice of the annual general meetings of the:

  • Federation of Post-Secondary Educators of BC, May 13-16, 2019, Kelowna
  • FPSE Holding Society, May 16, 2019, Kelowna

Meetings of Presidents' Council will be held May 13 and 16.


Online registration for delegates and observers is now closed for our annual general meeting, May 13 –16, 2019, in Kelowna. If you have missed the deadline or require any changes to your registration, please email agm@fpse.ca. This year's delegate entitlement is available for download here

The deadline for online registration of invited guests is this Wednesday, April 10, 2019.  The form for guests can be found here.
