North Island College Faculty Association

The North Island College Faculty Association (NICFA) serves as the exclusive bargaining representative for approximately 250 faculty members at North Island College (NIC). As Local 16 of the Federation of Post-Secondary Educators of British Columbia (FPSE), NICFA is also affiliated with the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), and the British Columbia Federation of Labour (BCFED). NICFA members are spread across various campuses, including the Comox Valley, Campbell River, Port Alberni, Port Hardy, and Ucluelet. The association is committed to advocating for fair working conditions, professional development, and active participation in institutional decision-making processes. The current collective agreement between NIC and NICFA covers the period from April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2025. Through its affiliations and initiatives, NICFA plays a pivotal role in enhancing the professional lives of its members and contributing to the overall success of North Island College.
