PSE Funding

Post-Secondary Education Funding is a campaign demanding urgent action to address the funding crisis facing British Columbia’s colleges, institutes, and universities. As layoffs and budget cuts threaten the very foundation of accessible, high-quality post-secondary education, this campaign calls on the provincial government to reinvest in the system it claims to oversee.

Our institutions are being pushed to the brink. In the wake of a 35% federal cut to international student permits and sudden changes to work and immigration pathways, public colleges and universities—already underfunded and overburdened—are facing layoffs, program closures, and a loss of educational opportunities for communities across B.C. Faculty and staff are being let go in alarming numbers, with some institutions seeing reductions of up to 10% of their workforce. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills remains silent, despite its tight control over institutional operations.

The future of B.C.’s post-secondary education system depends on bold, responsive leadership that puts students, educators, and communities first. Post-Secondary Education Funding is a collective demand for that leadership—and a commitment to fight for the resources and respect our sector deserves.
