  • Municipal Pension Plan


    FPSE members who work as support staff in public institutions are members of the Municipal Pension Plan. BC’s Municipal Pension Plan is one of the largest pension plans in Canada, and provides secure retirement income to plan members living and working throughout British Columbia.

  • College Pension Plan


    Most FPSE members are members of the College Pension Plan. The College Pension Plan provides secure retirement income for about 36,000 plan members, including employees and senior administrators at 24 public post-secondary institutions across the province.

  • The Transition to Retirement


    The end of mandatory retirement has brought significant changes to the post-secondary sector. Since the elimination of mandatory retirement in 2009, there has been a change in demographics with growth in members above the age of 60 and a decline in members younger than 60.
