About FPSE
The Federation of Post-Secondary Educators of BC is the provincial voice for faculty and staff in BC teaching universities, colleges and institutes, and in private sector institutions. FPSE member locals, represented by Presidents' Council and the Executive, represent over 10,000 faculty and staff at 18 public and 4 private sector institutions.
The CLBC was established in 1984 and has become Canada's longest-standing centre for business-labour dialogue and consensus building. The Centre's focus is on labour market and skills issues and is the lead organization for the Work and Learning Knowledge Centre of the Canadian Council on Learning.
"I look forward to not only representing the labour movement in this important debate, but also speaking out for post-secondary educators. It is critical that labour's priorities are reflected in policies that CLBC develops on skills issues across the country", said Ms. Shaw.
Currently, the CLBC is co-chaired by Kenneth Georgetti (Labour), President of the Canadian Labour Congress, and Perrin Beatty (Business), President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters. The Board of Directors includes labour and business leaders and senior federal and provincial/territorial government officials.
